Abstract

In order to investigate the photoluminescence (PL) and the X-ray excited luminescence (XEL) characteristics of CsPbBr3 and CsPbI3 quantum dots with high effective mass (Zeff), we synthesized CsPbBr3 and CsPbI3 quantum dots with a cubic phase by using the wet chemical method. The CsPbBr3 quantum dots had a PL peak at 522 nm and an XEL peak at 537 nm. The CsPbI3 quantum dots had a PL peak at 690 nm and an XEL peak at 711 nm. The high XEL peaks could be attributed to the high Zeff of the CsPbBr3 and the CsPbI3 quantum dots (62.24 and 64.04, respectively). The high Zeff might have led to the high stopping power for X-ray detection. These results show the potential of CsPbBr3 and CsPbI3 quantum dots for applications in the field of optical and X-ray detection.
