Abstract

Cyclic β-bromo-α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids are carbonylatively cyclized with primary amines under carbon monoxide pressure in MeCN in the presence of a catalytic amount of PdCl 2(PPh 3) 2 to give N-alkylmaleimides.
