Abstract

1-Bromoallyl bromides are carbonylatively cyclized with anilines under carbon monoxide pressure in DMF in the presence of a catalytic amount of a palladium catalyst along with a base to give the corresponding 1-aryl-1H-pyrrol-2(5H)-ones in moderate to good yield.
