Abstract

2-Bromocyclohex-1-enecarbaldehydes react with anilines under carbon monoxide pressure in DMF at 60 °C in the presence of a catalytic amount of PdCl2(PhCN)2 to afford the corresponding hydroisoindol-1-ones in good yields.
