Abstract

This paper is report on the physical and optical properties of development bismuth-borate-subbituminous fly ash (BiBSFA) glass system. The glasses containing Bi2O3 in xBi2O3:(60-x)B2O3:20Na2O:20SFA (where x = 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 wt.%) have been prepared by melt quenching technique. The physical properties of this glass are shown from density data. The optical properties were investigated from refractive index and transmission by using Abbe-refractometer and UV-visible spectrometer respectively.
