Abstract
This article describes the results of investigations on PVA-Fe 3O4 nanocomposites prepared by the electrospinning technique. First, iron oxide nanoparticles are synthesized by the co-precipitation method. Secondly, PVA-Fe3O4 nanocomposites are prepared by electrospinning technique with PVA as binding/stabilizing agents. The resultant nanocomposites are characterized by using field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Electron microcopies show fascinating morphologies of PVA-Fe3O 4 nanocomposites. These novel materials could be used in biomedical, catalysis, and optoelectronic applications.
