Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with functional groups (FGs) have been studied extensively because of their ample applications and possible further functionalization of such MOFs with the help of the FGs on the MOFs. The applications of any MOFs could be further increased with the functionalization on both metal and linker sites of the MOFs. Here, we firstly reviewed MOFs with FGs on both metal and linker in the view of preparation, via direct synthesis and post-synthetic modification, and applications in adsorption and catalysis. After the summary of the achieved results, the future research outlook will be provided.
