Abstract

This paper presents a real-time 3D cube detection and tracking algorithm for projector-based tangible augmented reality systems. The algorithm, which uses a depth-map as its input, combines homogeneous-slope sampling, voting using geometric constraints, and particle filtering for fast and accurate cube tracking. Experiments show that the algorithm produces accurate and visually pleasing results in real time.
