Abstract

The hierarchical mobility management for Mobile IPv6 (HMlPv6) reduces the amount of signaling between the mobile node, its correspondent nodes and its home agent. The HMIPv6 introduces a new entity, the MAP (Mobility Anchor Point), used by the mobile node as a local home agent. Using MAP in HMIPV6, we can also improve the performance of Mobile IPv6 in terms of handoff speed. The HMIPv6 uses IKE (The Internet Key Exchange) to set security association between MAP and mobile node. In this paper, we propose the Return Routability procedure for MAP to set security association between MAP and mobile node instead of IKE which is complex and heavy.
