Abstract

Ruthenium-catalyzed one-pot β-alkylation of secondary alcohols with primary alcohols was discussed. Reaction of secondary alcohols with primary alcohols in dioxane at 80° was studied. Results showed that the reaction rate was enhanced and secondary alcohol was obtained when 5 equiv of 1-dodecene was added in the reaction.
