Abstract

The crystal method: Pt3Co nanocrystals with cubic and truncated octahedral shapes have been selectively synthesized by simple tuning of the reaction time. Electrocatalytic experiments revealed the shape-dependent activities and stabilities toward oxygen reduction and the significantly improved performance of truncated octahedral Pt3Co nanocrystals (see figure).
