Abstract

Thermal comfort is one of the most important factors for satisfying occupants within indoor environments. For large scale hotel buildings, the heating and cooling energy to satisfy thermal balance and occupant's comfort is required simultaneously in different spaces. This paper presents the results of studies on the energy consumption characteristic, EUI(Energy Use Index) and single load pattern targeting large scale hotel buildings in Daegu, Korea. Then, this study was calculated the simultaneous load factor by analysing the load pattern. As a result, the simultaneous load pattern of the large scale hotel buildings appeared as a 'Permanent Load Profile with a high base loading type'. Compared to other buildings, the simultaneous load factor of hotel buildings is high. Also, the bigger deviation of simultaneous load, the higher energy demand peak and demand. Through the results of study, it may be useful for energy-saving plan of the buildings.
