Abstract

Single nanowire (NW) resistive nano-heaters (RNH) were fabricated and used as a highly localized thermochemical nano-reactor to grow hierarchical nanostructures under a study. The study introduced a novel all solution process to fabricate a single nanowire RNH to induce highly localized nanoscale temperature field and localized thermochemical reaction and to grow hierarchical heterojunction nanowire structures directly on a single metal nanowire resistive nano-heater. The single nanowire RNH was fabricated by fluidic aligned deposition of solution synthesized silver (Ag) nanowires and direct digital nanoparticle laser sintering process in atmospheric condition. All process was done in solution environment at ambient pressure and low temperature without using any conventional vacuum deposition, photolithography or e-beam lithography in vacuum environment.
