Sintering behaviors and electrical properties of transparent conducting In6Sn2-x ZnxO13-x ceramics with different Sn/Zn ratio

Abstract

In the indium tin zinc oxide (In6Sn2-x Zn xO13-x ; ITZO) ceramics, the atomic ratio of Sn 4+ and Zn2+ was changed, and the solubility limit, phase development process, microstructure evolution and electrical characteristics of the sintered specimens were examined. When Sn4+ and Zn2+ were added with the 1:1 ratio, ITZO single phase was observed, while various kinds of second phases developed when the ratio goes away from 1:1. The generation of the second phases resulted in the decrease in the solubility limit of Sn4+ and Zn2+. The second phases affect the microstructure and electrical characteristics.
