Structural refinement of BaMgAl10O17: Eu2+ using X-ray and neutron powder diffraction

Abstract

Structural refinement of BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ compound was carried out using X-ray and neutron powder diffraction data. The Rietvelde refinement was performed with structural model based on crystallographic data taken from the single crystal. The structural parameters including lattice parameters and atomic coordinates were determined. Results showed the presence of two kinds of phases in the prepared sample. The final weighted R-factor on X-ray and neutron data was found to be 12.43% and 5.36% respectively.
