Abstract
A structural refinement of EuMgAl11O19 was performed by the Rietveld analysis using X-ray powder diffraction. The photoluminescence (PL) excitation spectra were measured by a deuterium lamp which was used as a vacuum ultraviolet excitation light sources. The PL spectra results indicated that the decrease of luminance results from the transition of the valence state from Eu2+ to Eu3+.
