Abstract

This study explores the meaning of storytelling and narrative for future of schooling. Living in 21th century, what is important is the quality of knowledge and it is dependent upon how students construct their own story and narrative over their lives. In school area, by applying a story onto the class, it could be a good educational tool and students can finally make their own narrative and become a constructor of their lives. In this process, making meaning includes interaction and culture; finally, narrative knowing can be the tool for understanding human behavior in contrast with scientific knowing which only focuses on observable materials and logics. For future schooling, narrative can be a good resolution and should be a new paradigm of schooling.
