Abstract

The main objective of this research is develop a new crack sensor based on a V-groove textured SU-8 thin film. The fabrication method proposed here is very simple and more reliable compared to previous methods. The crack sensor based on the V-groove textured SU-8 thin film is employed to effectively monitor the motion of the multi-axial joints of human fingers. In addition, generation of the Morse code is demonstrated using the fabricated flexible strain sensor and the response time of the sensor is less than 100 ms. We believe that the proposed V-groove textured crack sensor has a great potential to detect the multiple motion in various human activities.
