Taxonomic review of the genera, Actina Meigen and Allognosta Osten-Sacken (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) from Korea

Abstract

Four species of the genera, Actina Meigen and Allognosta Osten-Sacken from the subfamily Beridinae found in the Korean peninsula, viz. Actina diadema Lindner, A. jezoensis (Matsumura), Allognosta japonica Frey, and A. vagans (Loew), were treated taxonomically in this article. One Palearctic species, A. japonica Frey, was reported for the first time in Korea. Identification keys, external photographs, diagnosis, description, and distributional range of these four species are presented herein to facilitate accurate identification.
