title = "Ultra-Wideband Common-Mode Rejection Filter Using Mode Conversion Technique",
abstract = "An ultra-wideband common-mode (CM) rejection filter based on the mode conversion method for application to wideband differential circuits is proposed. The proposed CM rejection filter comprises two mode converters and a combiner structure. The mode converter transforms a differential-mode (DM) signal into a CM signal, and vice versa. Subsequently, a combiner section, connected to the mode converter, reflects the CM components while minimizing the impact on the DM signal components. To achieve an ultra-wide bandwidth, the mode converter is implemented with microstrip-to-parallel stripline (MSL-to-PSL) transitions. The proposed CM rejection filter demonstrates, through measurements, a DM insertion loss of less than 2.3 dB and a return loss exceeding 10 dB from 1.53 to 40 GHz, while achieving a CM rejection level of more than 17 dB with the circuit size of 9.8 mm × 16.5 mm.",
