N2 - This study explored the perceptions and emotions of older adults when they interact with technology within the context of their personal environment. In-depth interviews and product evaluation and assessment techniques were used to assess key elements of diffusion of innovation theory. Three major themes emerged from the analysis process: (1) Simple is Better, (2) Complex Works for Some, and (3) I Do Not Need This - Why Should I Care? Although older adults have long been regarded as a homogeneous group in relation to technology adoption, the result of this study suggested the idea that they may be more heterogeneous group. For these reason, it is very important to acquire the authentic knowledge about older adults' life and experience. We hope that insights gained from this study will contribute to motivate older adults' healthy lifestyle and quality of life.
