Abstract

Field tests of vehicular communication systems should be done with easy, accurate and fast evaluation tools. In this paper, we propose a performance evaluation tool for vehicular-to-X (V2X) communication, so called VPET (V2X communication performance evaluation tool) following the IEEE 802.11p/WAVE standard. The composition, functions, and protocol of messages for VPET are described.
