Abstract
Organizational effectiveness is linked to both the engagement and well-being of employees. Engagement requires employees to invest psychological resources back into the organization, in conflict with employees’ pursuit of well-being, or work-life balance. Hence, employees are experiencing conflict between work and family ambitions, but research on these concepts has usually been pursued independent of each other. This paper proposes that the interrelationship between work engagement and employee well-being, supported by workplace spirituality practices such as spiritual leadership, can help alleviate work-family conflict.
